Moadonit Nitzan

Moadonit Nitzan

Moadonit Nitzan Nerya
The Nitzan Club was opened in Nerya, a rapidly growing settlement near Modiin in May 2014 in collaboration with Nerya youth
.and the town council

:About Neriah
,Nerya is a 25 year old settlement 15 minutes north of Modiin
.It has 200 families committed to a high standard of Torah living and a non materialistic modest lifestyle
A
mong these families are children who have special needs and whose families need support, encouragement and a helping hand
,A number of youth have volunteered to help out and we have, together with the community council and a group of parents
.joined efforts to open the Nitzan Club

:Current Program
. The program has been operating twice a week with 10 children participating and 7 amazing volunteers
Our volunteers have undergone a short training course and are in contact with the local social worker and parents
! To be honest they are natural loving caregivers in everyway
The program has consisted of games, arts and crafts, storytelling, music, funtime activities and parties
! Our equipment: some  gymboree elements, play space, lots of love

.......It's Happening
Tair  Libenu has helped to recruit  a
.Special Needs Leadership group to advocate the needs of these children and their familie
! Last year the city council made all sidewalks in Nerya wheelchair accessible

.A parent support group has been opened and meets twice a month sharing  information, expe
rience and difficulties
In June we co-sponsored a Shabbat of Awareness in Nerya in which 200 people participated and
.on Succot the Special Needs families shared an exciting day of ancient crafts in Shiloh

? What's Next
(Due to the small premises (caravan) the program up to now has serviced only the children with special needs (10
We currently hope to raise the funds to expand the Nitzan Club to include siblings in the program and
.( additional children from nearby communities (Talmon, Dolev
We now have the opportunity to use the facility 3 days a week and would like to devote some time to para therapeutic activities
.such as motion/dance and music, a choir and use these as a starting point for integrated social activitie
.We hope to begin this through a sponsorship program
We would also like to open a small gym with treadmills, bikes and the like
,compatible with the needs of the first group of children based on consultation with parents
.and their physical therapists and a separate play room for the games and group activities
Space has been allocated and we would be delighted if you could help us to fund a small permanent building
! to help us with the growing needs of the project
